Today is the official Day of Giving.  Pittsburgh Foundation will match donations of $25 to $1,000 on a prorated basis during this 24-hour drive.  Read on to see the impact of your donations and support.

Since the fall of 2012, during Off The Wall’s first year in Carnegie, our organization has helped dozens of artists fulfill a dream - to showcase their talents on a professional stage.  Our own production company has artistically flourished in the new environment, cooperating with visionary directors and designers who in turn brought out the best in our immensely talented pool of local actors. Our play selection, celebrating the great tradition and value of women’s contribution to the theatrical canon, has been extended from four to six plays, and we are happy to continue to shine the light on today’s female playwrights.

Our Theater is unique.  Nowhere else in Pittsburgh will you find a theater so dedicated to nurturing, challenging, inspiring and empowering women theater artists or more focused on exploring new ideas and developing new works.  We owe our continued gratitude to you, our supporters and donors.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching out and lifting people up.  This has always been the philosophy of Off The Wall Productions.  Please make it yours, too, with a fully tax deductible gift today. WOMEN COUNT In case you missed the theatre industry’s gender parity movement, here’s a recap: women have been writing plays for millennia and landing productions for centuries.   Over time, they’ve also come to play key roles onstage and backstage.   But female theatre artists of all kinds still find themselves bonking their heads on a glass ceiling known as the “glass curtain.”   Even today, female playwrights, directors, and designers are atypical.   Shakespearian gender-swapping has been mooted as a partial solution; however, such theatrical “novelty” only serves to distract from the main issue – the absence of contemporary dramas reflecting the complexity of women’s lives.   Cross-gender casting fails to question the over-representation of dead and living male playwrights.   It does not address the fact that half our contemporary creative world is missing.
