3 Reasons to Attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival
The Pittsburgh New Works Festival kicks off their 25th year in just a few days. Hundreds of playwrights have submitted original works, hoping to be selected as one of the 12 featured plays to be performed on stage during the festival. It’s an exciting time for theater in Pittsburgh, and we hope you’ll attend one or all of the performances. We’re so excited, that we’ve shared the top three reasons for attending the festival.
The #3 reason to attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival
The #3 reason to attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival is to dare to do something you have not done before. There’s a reason psychologists, neurologists and wellness advocates encourage new activities. Participating in new and mentally stimulating activities preserve cognitive skills and boost brain power. And it’s good for your health. (And if are a returning attendee, you’ll still boost your brain power too!)The #2 reason to attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival
Live theater is more engaging than the movies and more original too! Unlike Hollywood, you won’t find a single remake! Each one-act play is a unique, one-of-a kind performance that deals with common struggles, real life challenges and/or focuses on a theme in a way that really gives you something to think about. The #1 reason to attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival
The #1 reason to attend the Pittsburgh New Works Festival is to show your support for the arts. Not only will you be supporting local artists, but you will be supporting artists from around the world. This year’s featured playwrights are from Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, California, Toronto, Canada and even Barcelona, Spain. It’s not that often that you get to experience the works of playwrights from such a wide geographic area on one stage; and this year, that stage is CARNEGIE STAGE.Learn more Tickets
