If you have never attended an Off The Wall Theater production, WELL is the one! Unique and interactive, this autobiographical sketch of playwright Lisa Kron turns audience members into cast members and uses the theater itself as its stage.

According to Pittsburgh Owl Scribe’s review by David Zuchowski,“You’ll probably find yourself on the edge of your chair trying to keep up with the shenanigans of the six character cast and the author’s playful penchant for violating all the rules of chronology, place and dimension.”

Join the laughter as we poke fun at the idiosyncrasies of the Ann Kron household, where allergies seem to rule. WELL’s effective portrayal of family relationships, conflicts and unmet expectations will be sure to resonate with you.

About Virginia Wall Gruenert (Ann): Virginia was last seen playing Juliana in The Other Place, Off The Wall’s first production in their new Carnegie venue.  A graduate of Syracuse University, she studied acting, voice, and movement in New York, London, and in L.A. with the legendary Stella Adler.  Favorite roles include Martha in Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Dr. Livingston in Agnes of God, Thelma in ‘night, Mother (Off The Wall), various roles in her original play Shaken & Stirred (Off The Wall and Theater 54 in NYC), Aunt Meme in Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wanda in Kennedy’s Children (Syracuse Stage).  Her short play Bugaboo was produced at Swan Day Pittsburgh 2012, and her full-length play Without Ruth was produced here at OTW in May 2013.  Virginia is a proud member of The League of Professional Theater Women, The Dramatists Guild of America and Actors’ Equity Association.  She serves as Artistic Director of Off The Wall Theater.

About Linda Haston (Ensemble): Linda is a performer, director and teaching artist who is always thrilled to be at OTW. She has performed with City Theater, Bricolage, Pittsburgh Public and Quantum, to name a few.  In the past few seasons at Off The Wall Theater she has directed and/or performed in several productions, recent favorites being Without Ruth, an original play based on stories about her mother, written by Virginia Wall Gruenert, and the role of Henry in The Club.  This past September/October she was seen in Our Town at the Public Theatre.  Screen credits include the film Won’t Back Down with Viola Davis.

Susie McGregor-Laine (Ensemble): This is Susie’s first production with OTW and she is delighted to be here working with such a terrific cast, crew and director – it has been such a fun process from the audition, rehearsals, and finally to the performances.  Susie has performed with several other theatres in the Pittsburgh area: Quantum, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Open Stage, barebones; Apple Hill Playhouse; Pittsburgh Playwrights, and the Hong Kong Stage Club when she lived in Hong Kong prior to coming to the USA in 1968.   Susie would like to dedicate this performance to her long-time friend and fellow “Brit”, Dorothy Graeham, who would have loved this play.
