Always having the community in mind, Linda was actively involved in helping to institute the Heinz Endowment Culturally Responsive Arts in Education (CRAE) Program for five public schools in the Pittsburgh area. This amazing program teaches leadership skills and appreciation of the arts to students while simultaneously promoting a positive racial identity. The program is the culmination of partnerships among art specialists, teaching artists and teachers to instruct the students using arts related to the African Diaspora.
“The best thing about being an actress and director in Pittsburgh is its community of professional theater artists.”
Linda Haston in an Interview with Trib Live
In 2009, Linda stated in an interview with the Trib Live that she’d like to make a complete living from performing and directing. We’re happy to have been a part of Linda’s success in achieving her dream.
THE WHALE
The Whale is the story of a 600-pound man in his quest to reconcile with his teenage daughter and to save his own life. Filled with despair and anguish, his only and best friend is his nurse. This wonderful play is about overcoming guilt, accepting compassion and working towards reconciliation.
